Burlingame, CA — Award-winning Actor Orlando Bloom will be the special guest at Gatepath’s 10th Annual Power of Possibilities recognition event on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the San Francisco Airport Marriot Waterfront in Burlingame, CA. As someone who was diagnosed with a learning disability at the age of seven, Bloom has a personal connection to Gatepath’s mission of creating a world where people of all abilities are fully accepted, respected and included. At this memorable event, attendees will be inspired by Bloom’s story and the stories of people with developmental disabilities who have made extraordinary achievements and accomplishments when given the opportunity to reach for their dreams. Bloom, who is world-renowned for his starring roles in blockbuster film franchises, including The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Pirates of the Caribbean, will share his personal journey of how he worked to achieve his dreams of becoming an actor despite his diagnosis. “Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you are not good enough … that because you struggle with a {disability} you’re never going to make it in life. It’s simply not true. It’s all about what’s in your heart, your determination, and your desire to overcome. And I think the obstacle that comes with any disability can be the opportunity of your life if you make it that,” Bloom said. The Power of Possibilities is known for its notable speakers. Last year, actor Colin Farrell talked about how raising a son with special needs gave him a new perspective on living and thriving with disabilities.
